Eric’s encounter
I knew a lot about God, but I didn’t really know God. Christianity was simply a religion to me. Growing up as a Pastor’s Kid, I felt that I heard and saw everything. My rebellion against what I saw as rules and regulations was an expression of lack of belief in the religion I was raised in. God reached me with the reality of His Word, transcending letters on a page, services on a Sunday and words from a human mouth. He convicted my soul of sin, righteousness and judgment. As Stephen L. Hill spoke from a living relationship with Jesus Christ, I knew that I was not right with God nor did I ever have what he spoke of. Today, I am alive in Christ, growing in His Word and sharing a daily relationship with Him, not because of anything that I did, but faith in what He did.
